Seymour Hersh Exposes ‘The Narrative’

In the last few weeks, the American public has been treated to two challenges to ‘The Narrative’ that have not been shut up. Perhaps they COULD not be shut up; or perhaps, they simply WEREN’T.

The first challenge was by Edward Snowden, who released documentation about the NSA and its control over ‘The Narrative.’ He was not the first to do so, of course: he was preceded by Julian Assange of Wikileaks, and by Bradley Manning. The difference is — they were arrested (yes, I know that Assange was not technically arrested, he is simply shut up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London; it reminds me of the long sequestration of Cardinal Mindzenty, decades ago); and he, Snowden, fortunately, was not; he was able to find sanctuary, for the moment, in Russia. I pray for his safety.

The second, most recent challenge, was by Seymour Hersh, an investigative reporter with over forty years of blowing the cover on dark deeds — which, if you follow the rabbit hole deep enough, leads to CIA and CIA-types, who have manipulated the US Government and the US Media for at least the past 60 years.

After these revelations, politically-interested Americans really have no excuse if they remain totally unaware of what is going on — that is, no excuse better than that of the fabled ostrich in his garden of sand.

I post the following links.

The first is the original article posted at The Guardian (a UK newspaper/online source.

The second is a commentary on this event by Paul Craig Roberts.

The third and fourth are also by Paul Craig Roberts, and remind us of what was known, and reported to those who cared to know, about the alleged killing of Osama bin Laden.

This one, written just before the Seymour Hersh story broke, last week:

And this one, a recent reminder of what was known, on the ground at Abottabad in Pakistan, at the time of the “raid.”

Finally, I will remark on the difficulty of opening people’s eyes to the truth of what is going on. Most members of my own family and circle of friends — all good people — prefer to be pre-occupied with other things, and have no particular interest in following this at all. I do not particularly fault them for this — each of us has his own life to live, after all — but being content to live in ‘The Narrative’ may have unpleasant consequences some day. As, in the day when it all comes apart and is revealed for the massive Lie that it is.

Love is always the answer, of course. Love of God; love of neighbor; even love of self, if by that we mean a proper care and concern for the state of one’s own soul. But somewhere in the words of Christ and the Apostles, I recall that a Love of Truth is a part of that love, as it is written in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ:

“All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

Certain passages in the Epistles may also come to mind. I am thinking about Romans, 2 Thessalonians, and Hebrews, where “exchanging the truth for a lie” is very soberly warned against.

Is it a small thing to choose to continue to believe The Lie? The Narrative is lies, my friends; in our day, it is THE lie — and it has been exposed as such. Carry on believing it at your peril, and at the peril of those that you love.

  1. branchnvine says:

Who could say it better. Be lovers of truth and not defenders of lies.

  2. When ever I voice my concerns over these issues with other believers they write most of them off as conspiracies and not worth any serious thought or consideration. Their reasoning seems to come from a mind set that says if it isn’t specifically sharing the Gospel than the truth you speak of in the post above isn’t considered thee truth, so it’s viewed as invalid. In other words, don’t worry about it just live for Christ. As if doing so is the antithesis of being a Christian?

Add to this those who immediately quote the submit to the governing authority verse every time you question our established US history, fore fathers, or government in general and you have the perfect storm of Christianese self deception. In reality it’s a sin of omission IMO.
